Dr Ravi Dissanayake

Ravi is an Australian fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in revision hip and knee replacement, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, sports knee injuries, and trauma surgery. He is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care with a strong focus on patient outcomes.

Fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon

Ravi grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to Melbourne to study medicine at Monash University, graduating with First Class Honours in 2010. He completed orthopaedic training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association across hospitals in Victoria and Tasmania, before completing a local fellowship in complex hip and knee revision surgery and trauma care.

Ravi lives in Mount Waverley with his wife, two young children and their golden labrador. He is fluent in Sinhalese.

Ravi operates at Waverley Private Hospital and St John of God Hospital, Berwick, performing revision and robotic assisted hip and knee replacement, along with trauma and sports knee surgery.

Public Appointments & Teaching

Teaching the next generation

Ravi holds public appointments at Monash Health and Bass Coast Health. He serves as Clinical Lead for Orthopaedic Trauma at Dandenong Hospital and is involved in training future orthopaedic surgeons through the Australian Orthopaedic Association. Ravi also participates in international surgical outreach in Vietnam.
