About Dr Ravi Dissanayake

Ravi is an Australian fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in robotic-assisted hip and knee replacements, revision hip and knee replacement, sports knee injuries, and trauma surgery. He is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care with a strong focus on patient outcomes.
Ravi grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to Melbourne to study medicine at Monash University, graduating with First Class Honours in 2010. He completed orthopaedic training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association across hospitals in Victoria and Tasmania. He went on to complete a local fellowship in complex hip and knee revision surgery and trauma care.
Ravi lives in Mount Waverley with his wife, two young children and their golden labrador. He is fluent in Sinhalese.
Public Appointments and Teaching
Ravi holds public appointments at Monash Health and Bass Coast Health. He serves as Clinical Lead for Orthopaedic Trauma at Dandenong Hospital and is involved in training future orthopaedic surgeons through the Australian Orthopaedic Association. Ravi also participates in international surgical outreach in Vietnam.
